Key Account Manager

The Business

Nestle covers three main divisions within Poland; confectionery, pet food and water. sevenhr have a relationship with the confectionery and pet food divisions with both being major players in their respective markets. The business has recently acquired Gerber in Poland and so now have a stake in the baby food market also. sevenhr have built a relationship with the business over the last six months and have registered numerous vacancies.

The Role

The position came about due to growth within the business. They were looking for somebody to look after some of the main accounts for the business. The successful candidate would need a strong background within a Key Account Manager role with a very strong track record within sales. They wanted somebody from a large FMCG business, highlighting a number of target organisations. The right candidate would be very sales orientated and commercial with good references but not necessarily with man management, as the role did not include this. 

The Solution

Beata spoke to the business to gain a good understanding of what they expected from the successful candidate and the types of people who would fit well within the business; it was decided to run a database search. This meant a number of Key Account Managers were highlighted from the sevenhr database as appropriate and hence approached regarding the role. In addition further contacts that would not necessarily be right for the role themselves were networked to ascertain whether they could recommend anybody within their own business or any associates who were looking to make a move. Candidates were asked to send their CV’s to sevenhr, which were then screened to produce a shortlist. From this we interviewed 12 candidates in detail with specific reference to Nestle and the skills they needed to perform the job well. Four candidates were put forward to the business with one invited for a second interview. From this an offer was made and accepted on the same day.
